この度HAGIWARA PROJECTSでは、3月7日（土）より横井七菜による個展「春の水」を開催いたします。弊ギャラリーでは、5年ぶり2度目の個展となります。

横井はこれまで、主にドローイングを軸に作品を発表してきました。画面には、少年や少女、虫や鳥、ろうそくや炎といったモチーフが、繊細かつ丹念な線によって描き出されます。それらは物語の断片を思わせながら、かすかな不穏さを帯びた幻想的な世界を立ち上げます。余白を活かした構成と、そこで起こっている事象の張りつめた空気感が、鑑賞者の想像力を静かに喚起し、物語への意識を呼び覚まします。

 

横井は、日々のささやかな出来事や心の揺らぎといった、小さく不確かなものに光をあてています。物語性と瑞々しさ、そして緊張感を内包した画面を通して、それらを確かな存在へとすくい上げます。高い描写力と寓話的な感性が交差することで立ち上がる詩的な世界は、観る者それぞれの内面と静かに響き合うでしょう。

 

本展では、新作ドローイングに加え、近年あらためて取り組み始めたキャンバス作品もあわせて展示いたします。線描を基盤としながら、支持体の違いによって生まれる表現の広がりをご覧いただけましたら幸いです。

横井 七菜 （よこい　なな）

HAGIWARA PROJECTS is pleased to present “Water in Spring” a solo exhibition by Nana Yokoi, opening on Saturday, March 7. This will be her second solo exhibition with the gallery and her first in five years.

Yokoi has primarily developed her practice through drawing. Her works depict motifs such as boys and girls, insects and birds, candles and flames, rendered in meticulous, delicate lines. These images suggest fragments of a larger narrative, giving rise to a fantastical world tinged with a subtle sense of unease. Through carefully composed images that embrace negative space and convey a palpable tension, Yokoi quietly engages the viewer’s imagination and evokes a sense of stories unfolding.

Her practice explores the delicate and often overlooked moments of everyday life, capturing fleeting experiences and subtle emotional shifts. Through images that combine narrative suggestion with freshness and restrained intensity, she brings these fragile impressions into focus. The poetic world that emerges from the interplay of refined draftsmanship and a fable-like sensibility resonates gently with each viewer’s inner landscape.

In addition to new drawings, the exhibition will feature recent canvas works, which Yokoi has returned to in recent years. Rooted in line-based expression, these works reveal an expanded range shaped by differences in material and support.

Nana Yokoi
Born in 1982, Yokoi graduated in 2006 from the Department of Painting (Oil Painting), Tama Art University.
